Interesting Gift Wrapping Ideas for Your Beloved

Gift wrapping
Fabric – Instead of wrapping your Valentine gift in paper try fabric. While it may sound odd to wrap a gift in fabric there are so many beautiful pieces of cloth that would make a perfect gift wrap and many can be purchased for about the same price as a good roll of wrapping paper. Check at your local fabric and craft store for pretty fabric that will make your gift even more amazing than it already is.

Hand Written Love Note Paper – For a truly personal way of wrapping a Valentine’s gift get some solid color gift wrapping paper or one that has large hearts on it. Write little love note messages within the hearts or at random places on the paper, then wrap the gift with care. She will have so much fun reading all the little messages you have adorned the gift with, as well as enjoy unwrapping it to reveal the beautiful gift inside.

Use a Decorative Box – You can either purchase a box that is already decorated and all you have to do is buy a large piece of wide ribbon to tie a big bow around it, or you can get a plain box and cover it yourself either in pretty fabric or wrapping paper. Another way to gift wrap your gift using a box is to use a square scarf. Place the box in the center of the scarf and then gather all the edges together at the top, tie off with a piece of ribbon and add a bow. This way she gets three gifts in one: a scarf she can wear, a pretty box she can use for keepsakes, and the gift inside the box.

Hide the Gift – Instead of gift wrapping your purchase hide it. Make up a set of clues that will eventually lead her to where the gift is hidden. Alternatively you can get a large ball of string and tie it all around the house, crossing paths every so often to confuse her, but so she can still find the gift when she reaches the end of the string.

In a Cake – This is a little trickier to manage but if carefully cut an unfrosted cake, remove some of the center but keep a piece to replace back over the top of the area the gift is hidden in, you can then place the gift inside, cover it with the top piece and then frost the cake. Done well she will have absolutely no idea it is in there until she cuts into the cake. It is best that your Valentine gift be in a solid box that can withstand being poked with a knife.

Keys in gift box
Wrap a Small Part of the Gift – As an example, if you are giving your lovely lady a new car you could wrap the keys and give them to her as a gift. She will be fooled into thinking she is getting a small item such as jewelry but will be suitably excited. Imagine how excited she will be when she opens her gift and finds a set of keys inside. The same idea can be used for a number of other items such as airplane tickets for a surprise vacation, or even the keys to a vacation home.

Get Children Involved – If you have small children have them draw and color some plain paper that you can then use to wrap her gift. She will be touched that all of her family were involved in some way in giving her the Valentine gift, and will treasure it greatly. The children will enjoy being included in the gift giving too but it is probably wise to not advise them of the gift itself as small children often struggle to hold in their excitement and may accidentally let slip what she is getting.

Beach Dig – If you live in a warm climate and the time is right bury her gift in the sand. Be sure to mark out a large square with pegs and string so she will know where she needs to dig in order to uncover her gift. This is another fun way to give her a Valentine gift that the children can be involved in. It will be fun watching her dig frantically and then seeing her happiness when she finally finds it. Don’t bury it too deep but make sure that it is deep enough that she has to dig at least 3 to 4 inches to find it.
